From opera to theater, from art
galleries to museums exhibiting the works of world wide
renowned artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Chagall, the French Riviera is
thriving with arts.
|
FINE ARTS

We have many
museums, a number of them dedicated to modern art, for instance, the Maegh
Foundation, which gathers together sculptures of Fernand Leger and
Giacometti plus many painters. Also notable are the museums of Chagall and
Matisse, or the actual house where Renoir lived, created his masterpieces
and ultimately died. In addition, you may visit the automobile museum, the
fascinating oceanographic museum of Monte Carlo or delight into ancient
cooking methods and recipes at the Culinary Arts Museum of Villeneuve
Loubet.

PERFORMING
ARTS

All year
round, the Riviera thrives with concerts and music. From street
performers to international acts, from Classical music and Jazz to Rock,
you will find something that will please your ears, no matter what your
taste is. Every year, Jazz lovers from all over the world flock to Nice
for the Jazz Festival of Cimiez, held in the beautiful setting of the
Cimiez Roman Arenas. And of course, there is the famous Jazz Festival of
Juan les Pins... Music
business professionals of all nationalities meet annually in Cannes for
MIDEM, the most significant international music convention in the world.
Of course, Cannes also hosts the most prestigious film festival of them
all, the famous "Cannes Film Festival". Mingle with the Stars!
It all happens right here, barely 30 min away from our school. |
ARTS
AND CRAFTS

The French
Riviera actively maintains its vibrant traditions. Vallauris ( the town of
creative potters), Biot (the place for multi-hued blown glass), and
Grasse (the perfume center of the world); which opens the doors of its
factories to unravel the mysteries of perfume creations past and present. |

FESTIVALS

The Film
Festival of Cannes attracts the stars just as the MIDEM festival draws
music professionals. Meanwhile, in Nice, the yearly Nice Carnival will
enrapture you with its Battle of Flowers and dazzle you with its Light
Parade and its fleets of over 600 characters! There are fireworks on
Massena Square every night during the Carnival. Menton also has its very
own Citrus Festival, which displays astonishing fleets made entirely of
oranges and lemons. Of course, let us not forget the Nice Jazz Festival,
the famous Juan les Pins Jazz Festival, or the Classical Music Festival of
Monte Carlo... |
AFEL, feels privileged to be in
the heart of it all... We invite you to come discover the beauty
and charm of our Riviera. All year round, there is always something to see,
visit, or participate
in... So join us for the experience of a lifetime!
